Documentation / Team Collaboration

Team Collaboration

Teams let you collaborate on genomes with other GENOTURK users. Share your uploads with a group, invite members by email, and browse each other's genomes and cancer candidates. This guide covers creating a team, inviting members, managing a team, and sharing genomes.

Requirements

Team collaboration requires an active subscription that includes the "Team collaboration" benefit. If your plan does not include it, the team pages show an upgrade prompt instead. You can compare plans on the subscriptions page.

Creating a Team

Creating a Team

Go to Teams in the dashboard and use the "+ Create new team" button, or open the new team page directly and enter a team name.

Creating a Team

You become the admin of any team you create. The admin is also a natural member of the team and is the only one who can manage it or delete it.

Inviting Members

Inviting Members

Only the team admin can invite members. Open your team from the Teams list, follow the "Invite members" link, and enter one or more email addresses separated by commas to send invites in bulk.

  • Bulk invites are supported — separate addresses with commas.
  • Every invited email must belong to an existing GENOTURK account; otherwise the submission fails and lists the unknown addresses.
  • An account can send at most 100 invites every 5 minutes.
  • Each invitee receives an email and (if the address belongs to an account) an in-app notification containing an accept link.

To accept, the invitee opens the link and presses "Accept Invitation" while signed in with the invited email address. Once accepted, they appear as a member of the team.

Managing a Team

Managing a Team

Open Teams in the dashboard and click the gear icon on a team you administer to open the management page.

Removing members

The members list shows everyone in the team with their name and email. Use the remove button next to a member to remove them from the team. The current admin cannot be removed this way.

Removing genomes

The genomes list shows all genomes shared with the team. Each genome name is a link you can open to inspect it. Removing a genome from the team revokes the other members' access — the genome itself and its owner's data are not deleted.

Renaming the team

Edit the team name in the "Team name" field at the top of the management page and submit to apply the change.

Changing the admin

Type the email address of a current team member into the "Change Admin" field and submit. The given email must belong to an existing user who is already a member of the team — transferring admin rights to a user outside the team is not possible. On success you are redirected back to the Teams list.

Deleting a team from the Teams list (admin only) removes its memberships and genome shares. Genomes themselves are never deleted with the team.

Sharing a Genome

Sharing a Genome

As the original uploader of a genome, you can add it to any team you are a member of from the genome detail page.

1Open one of your genomes from the genomes list.
2In the "Add to team" section at the bottom of the page, pick a team from the dropdown.
3Press "Add". The teams the genome is shared with are listed as chips; use the × on a chip to revoke that team's access.

Only the original uploader can add a genome to a team or remove it again. Sharing gives read access only — it never transfers ownership.

Accessing Shared Genomes

Accessing Shared Genomes

Genomes shared through your teams appear in your genomes list alongside your own, marked with a different color (olive-lime) in the name, and can be filtered with the "Hide shared" checkbox.

  • View genome details, reads, alignments and diffs.
  • Browse and expand alignments on the shared genome.
  • Read and write alignment comments.
  • List and inspect cancer candidates detected for the shared genome.
  • Delete the shared genome if needed.

On detail pages of genomes you do not own, the uploader's email address is shown in the information section together with the teams the genome is shared with.
