Notifications & Activity
GENOTURK keeps you informed about the background work happening on your data through notifications and an activity feed. This guide explains how they work.
The notification bell
The bell icon in the dashboard header shows the state of your recent jobs at a glance:
- An unread badge shows how many notifications you have not seen yet
- Clicking the bell opens the list of recent notifications
- Notifications refresh automatically, so you will usually not need to take any action
Notification types
Notifications are produced by the background processing pipeline and include:
- Job processing - a genome job has started analysing your data
- Job completed - the analysis finished and results are available
- Job failed - something went wrong and the job could not complete
Marking notifications read
You can mark a single notification as read from the dropdown, or mark everything as read with one click. Read notifications stop counting towards the unread badge.
The activity feed
Your dashboard also keeps a history of activity events on your account, for example:
- When a genome is uploaded
- When a genome, cancer candidate or individual is deleted
- When cancer candidates are removed in bulk
